Corinth is a torax farmer living in the Herdsman's Valley. She appears in Ultima VIII.

Description[edit]

Corinth was the daughter of a farmer named Lleu, who named his daughter after the mother who died giving birth to her. Growing up inextricably tied to the valley in which she was born, Corinth took the herdsman Gwillim as her husband, and together they would have two children: a son known as Cyrrus and an unnamed daughter who died in infancy when a kith ate her. This tragedy would deeply effect her family, leaving Corinth guilt-stricken and leading Cyrrus to eventually seek apprenticeship with the Theurgists of Argentrock Isle.

At the time of the Avatar's arrival on Pagan, Corinth could be found in the wilds north of Tenebrae, where she and Gwillim tended a modest flock of toraxen. Should the hero speak with her, she would relate some of the details of her life and could discuss the prominence of the Titans in Pagan society, mentioning that she and her family had traditionally been adherents of Hydros. If asked about the ghost which was said to stalk the valley, Corinth would reluctantly explain that her husband had encountered such a creature but was loathe to speak of it as it had something to do with the death of his brother, Karpese.

Regardless of the topic, she would frequently mention Cyrrus throughout whatever discussion she had with the Avatar, and it would become readily apparent that she thought highly of her son and missed him dearly.[1]
