Noctis Labyrinthus and Coprates Chasma are two interconnected systems of caverns located on Mars in the late 19th century, located north of Argyre at 20°S 113°W. The whole system is nestled within a huge canyon system and wide-stretched, thus one can easily lose orientation in it, especially since all the walls look the same.

History

This twisting series of tunnels in the late 19th century was the home to Cooter McGee, an American prospector who made his living mining oxium from the Martian rocks to supply the Trading Post with it. The Avatar was sent to the tunnels by Calamity Jane to rescue the lost prospector after Rasputin had trapped the miner within his cavern for refusing to reveal the location of his oxium motherlode.

These winding and confusing sections of canyon labyrinths ran just northwest of Argyre. Mister McGee's cave entrance was on the north side of Noctis, and the cave in which he was imprisoned opened into Coprates Chasma. There was a marker in Coprates, a small pennant, similar to several others we found around the planet. • Waiting for too long to rescue Cooter results in Raxachk taking him away, never to be seen again.
• One can either use berries to use telekinesis to reach Cooter, or go a longer way around to pass by the chasms with the planks.
