Like Fireworks or Thunder, this is a spell for mages who don't want to be bothered by enemies. Casting Confuse will cause the enemies to go into disarray, losing their focus on their original target and no longer attack. This allows the mage to leave with all time in the world, while the foes try to get their wits together to again concentrate on the task at hand. Note that it doesn't work on strong foes like dragons and daemons.
