Casting Animate on an inanimate object will cause it to "come to life", meaning that it will wander around and react to outside influences. Note that the object still retains its properties; for example, if an animated Lightning Wand gets aggressive, it will throw around lightning bolts on its own.

The usefulness of the spell at first seems questionable, until the caster realises that it can be combined with the Clone spell to create more of these objects, since technically they are alive. "Killing" these objects results in multiple copies of the original.

Causes inanimate objects to come to life and wander about, though not under the caster's control.
