This article is about a character in Ultima IX. For other uses, see Angus (disambiguation).

Angus is a tavern patron who may be found in Britain during Ultima IX.

Description[edit]

Before the cleansing of the Shrine of Compassion, Angus could be found gossiping with the barmaid, Dara, about a non-tipping customer who had come to the King's Head before he was exiled to Paws. Should the Avatar speak to him, he would voice his support for Aidon's policy of removing the city's poor and sick, and would mention that the mayor was positively impacting the city while Lord British remained largely uninvolved in Britain's affairs. The Avatar could also ask him about the runes of Virtue, which would prompt Angus to direct the hero to Aleena.

Later, after the Avatar returned from a journey to Terfin, Angus would act as though he had enjoyed a wild night of drinking with the hero, not knowing that he had actually spent an evening in the company of Evidious. Once the Avatar discovered the impersonator, the hero could correct the man on this point, although Angus asked if he could still claim he had drank with the Avatar, as it made for a good story.[1]

Trivia[edit]

  • In the fan-made dialogue patch for Ultima IX, Angus' dialogue is drastically changed. He is initially portrayed as a Fellowship sympathizer, who is eager for the old meeting hall to be restored and who believes that the Guardian's reputation for evil is unsubstantiated rumor.
