Amber is an actress working at the Royal Theatre in Britain during Ultima VII. She is also notable as being romantically involved with Shamino at this point in time.

Description[edit]

Amber previously worked as a barmaid (presumably at the Blue Boar Tavern) before being taken on for the role of Sherry the Mouse in Raymundo's production of "The Trials of the Avatar." During the time of the Avatar's adventures in Britain, Amber and the rest of the cast were still in rehearsal, with the debuting actress complaining frequently about the content of the piece and her lines - which largely borrowed from "Hubert's Hair-Raising Adventure." If asked, Amber would sassily comment that she was better fit for the role of a queen, and that she and Raymundo had had creative conflicts over her ambitions to take on such a role.[1]

Listening to the teasing barbs exchanged between Iolo and Shamino, the hero could quickly ascertain that Amber was involved with the famed ranger, and mention of her name to Shamino would elicit lovestruck blushes. Speaking to Amber directly about her relationship with the companion would draw complaints from the woman about Shamino's unwillingness to settle down, and would result in embarrassing displays of affection if Shamino were present within the party.[2][3]

It is unknown if Shamino ever honored Amber's desires for him to commit to her, as nothing is known about their relationship following the ranger's return from Serpent Isle, and no trace of the actress can be found in Britannia by the time of Ultima IX.

Lore[edit]

My husband directs at the Royal Theatre. Currently, he is producing his own work, The Trials of the Avatar. Surely thy friend will wish to see that. The costumes are fantastic! Naturally so, for Raymundo himself designed them.
