The Bell of Courage is an artifact that symbolizes the Principle of Courage. Following the Quest of the Avatar, the Bell of Courage was lost. Derek, the guardian of the Candle of Love points potential Avatars to Bengrod of Jhelom, the last guardian of the Bell.
Bengrod had given the Bell to Mortimer, a Minotaur living in the nearby Mount Tenax. Mortimer would agree to part with the bell, if a hero would aid him in liberating his home from invading goblins. The clapper of the Bell had been removed, however, and given to Jingles of Paws to boost his confidence.
